I did the squares chain piecing, and not one of them came loose as i worked with them. And it was sooooo much faster. Just need to hope the joins always being at right angles KEEPS them secure over time!Sarahhttp://www.narcolepticinacupboard.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79942022114351470.post-61744020415658796562011-02-10T14:56:46.728+00:002011-02-10T14:56:46.728+00:00Ah, by the way, that was interesting about chain p...Ah, by the way, that was interesting about chain piecing. I thought it was to save thread as you don't have to stop and start you don't get long threads. I always do securing stitches start and finish of a piece. Is that not necessary then?PlumLeaf 李葉https://www.blogger.com/profile/04647944181903989013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79942022114351470.post-63214966714660308122011-02-08T19:52:27.787+00:002011-02-08T19:52:27.787+00:00looking great Sarah Gran is the best.looking great Sarah Gran is the best.Stacey Olivernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79942022114351470.post-48147133026928501052011-02-02T11:30:48.138+00:002011-02-02T11:30:48.138+00:00Thanks Portia. I should point out that I am used to my man going off to sea, its just that with Narcolepsy my dreams can be extremely vivid and sometimes clearer in my head than actual memories, so add that to the fact that it can take a while for me to wake up fully sometimes... Basically yeah, it was a sucky night, but not that out of the ordinary I'm afraid! Tho I normally wake up enough to remember before I get up...Sarahhttp://www.narcolepticinacupboard.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79942022114351470.post-37945922861310069682011-02-02T02:14:03.829+00:002011-02-02T02:14:03.829+00:00Love the simplicity of those squares. You poor thing. Must be difficult having your other half away at sea like that...(although I wish mine would go away sometimes, lol! ;)
Sounds like you're hanging in there though.
Portia
xxxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10017802422891332588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79942022114351470.post-73178150962097488622011-02-02T01:12:15.467+00:002011-02-02T01:12:15.467+00:00I'll learn crochet one day... think I've ...I'll learn crochet one day... think I've already squeezed too much into this year! As for the quilt, thanks x Hope you can get round to your next quilt soon, I look forward to it!Sarahhttp://www.narcolepticinacupboard.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79942022114351470.post-91336868135799166302011-02-01T23:41:52.452+00:002011-02-01T23:41:52.452+00:00Woo! (I think my son will be ONE by the time that happens!)
I agree with the knitting - too slow to see progress - that's why I prefer to crochet. Unpicking stitches is less heart-breaking as you only pick up one loop not the hundred and fifty three that you cast on with in the first place!
Hope you get better soon!PlumLeaf 李葉https://www.blogger.com/profile/04647944181903989013noreply@blogger.com
