Pillow Fight Fought

I've done really well out of another swap!  I think I'm just a bit jammy really aren't I?
This is what I sent out (it was well received - phew!)

This is what I received back (received very happily!!)

Emily did me a lovely cushion in solids - she'd cleverly figured out that I've got a bit of a thing for solids at the moment - and such lovely colours.  She also send an adorable wee pouch in Corduroy (love cord!) and a monkey!   She also, (not in picture) made a colour card for me with the details of each of the solids she'd used in case I might need to match them - how thoughtful is that?!

The weather here has really gone bad.   The dark is coming...  Daylight is currently from about 8.30am to about 3.30pm, but even that is poor.   There hasn't been a day all week that I've not had to put a light on inside to see properly.  Wind has been howling round the house threatening to take the roof off, rain has been lashing at the windows desperately trying to get in, and the temperature has dropped from Mild put a jumper on to Cold put 3 t shirts under said jumper and a few extra pairs of socks on.  Then get a couple of hot water bottles to sit with....   Miss Elliecat is not impressed.  However, at least she is happy that she has been able to reclaim "her" half of the bed, and I think she's also pretty happy to have all of my attention should she desire so...  Not that she's not missing her male human.... she has gone and fetched her toys to me a few times so she clearly misses their playtime.

I'm going to take a few days off the laptop this week, so if I don't reply to comments quickly (or leave my usual quantity) you know why!
Back soon...

  1. Love the cushion you received. I've got a bit of a thing for solids but not done anything about it yet. One day I will!

  6. LOVE the pillows-- both the one you made, and the one you received. I also love the little pouch and the monkey that Emily included-- very thoughtful extras! Enjoy! Your weather sounds just horrid! Our days are getting dark very early, too-- and I hate it. I'm always grateful for the Christmas holliday season (even though I'm Jewish!)-- but the music and the lights and decorations help me get through the arrival of winter. (I do my best to avoid the stores on the weekends, if possible-- way too crowded). Does Elliecat snuggle with you to keep warm? I visited my sister oncein the winter and her roommates cat slept on my head and kept me so warm. wishing you some better weather and a peaceful break from the laptop. Will be here when you're ready to return!

  11. I name your house Wuthering Heights! ... and I shall send you a kit to make a little wind turbine just powerful enough to power your sewing machine and a 60 Watt light bulb! ;)

It's dark and cold and snow is forecast next week here, but I think we have about an hour more daylight than you at each end of the day ... it still doesn't feel like much though!

Enjoy the break away from the computer!

  12. Those are both beautiful pillows! I hope you stay warm, cuddled under some quilts! We have the dark too, today we had sunrise at 8:20 am and sunset is 4:20 pm so I think we are on similar latitudes. I too find it challenging.

  15. I love the idea of a colour card for matching, very clever.
Hope you're not suffering from the wind too much up there in the far far north - its pretty wild here and I guess it may be a lot worse with you. Juliex

  18. Both pillows/cushions are lovely :)
The one you've sent looks a bit more cushiony and the one you've received a bit more pillowy if you know what I mean. I love the red cord pouch and the colour card seems a brilliant idea, too.
The weather sound horrible, but ours is not much better. The wind is howling terribly tonight.
Keep warm and enjoy your break from the computer :)

  19. Yey! Both are gorgeous babes!

The only thing I hate about this time of year is the light... or lack thereof. I spend the ONLY daylight hours at work. Pooh.

  20. Have a nice break! Hope there's some cuddling with Ellie and your new pillow planned!
And I totally understand needing lights on even in the "daytime!" It's getting to be that time of year where I live too, though it hasn't quite been every day this week.
