Miss Elliecat do close your mouth... |
So. Having promised the "block assembly" post for the Stained QAL, I spent 2.5hrs last night carefully, painstakingly photographing every stage of the block assembly. I got some pretty pictures despite the bad lighting... It was a bit of a push getting it all done, but, I knew that after spending the morning running errands and getting the shopping (return of man junk import) in I would not be fit for anything other than sitting on the sofa for the rest of the day today.
And I was right. Well, actually, I underestimated my uselessness. I've mentioned a few times this bloody annoying thing I get, Automatic Behaviour. Most people experience it once in a blue moon, lucky people like me have to actually expect it, on a pretty much daily basis. So anyway. I'm sitting there, downloading the photos from the camera to laptop, and the next thing I know its a full 7 minutes later. There are no photos on my laptop. I've looked everywhere. Recycling bin and all. No photos. Damn it, I thought, I'll have to do that again.
You know what's coming dont you.... Yup. They are not on the camera any more either. Gone. Alllllll gone.
So, apologies for the photoless instructions, bit crap I know, but I've got too many swap commitments to re-do it next week I'm afraid. I hope these instructions will suffice in the mean time!
Best of luck!
oh dammit! i am sure you said the same thing! ;) xoxo
ReplyDeleteand adorable elliecat, i love you, come visit me if you ever get bored at your house. i promise to feed you tuna fish and give you lots of catnip! ;)
Oh nightmare! I would've had a Basil Fawlty style tantrum and junked the pc! Don't worry about it though; your graphics are really good.
ReplyDeleteDoes Elliecat ever sit with her tongue sticking out just a wee bit? Mine used to do that, looked kinda gormless, not that I'm suggesting Elliecat looks that, at all, even a little bit, never......
ReplyDeleteOh, how frustrating for you! Don't worry though - as Alison said, your graphics look really clear.
ReplyDeleteI'm way behind with everything so haven't even started cutting. I decided to order some extra fabric but haven't heard back from the shop :(
While pics would have been nice, your graphics are excellent. So sorry that happened to you, it must be frightening. I don't imagine you e er really get used to it.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back, LOL

Oh crap (although laughing at the Elliecat pic) you can recover photos from a card though if your man gets the energy to try, just don't format it!
ReplyDeleteBig sigh, I bet you were annoyed, but don't sweat it, I like your graphics and look forward to seeing photos when you next take some.
ReplyDeleteYou have my permission to beat yourself up!!! No sweat though, we'll manage fine without them. How hard can it be..............
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear man junk back at last
Oh dear :-( Oh dearie dear :-( Ms Ellie looks sort of shocked too?!
ReplyDeleteMan junk = man's return= time to get that hoover out again Sarah? Careful now remember what happened last time?!Mind you saying that - shame you can't just delete hoovers innit?
oh you poor thing...... technology is definately send to try us at times x
ReplyDeleteOh no! I know the exact feeling when that sinking pit opens in your heart/stomach as you realize they're gone. I am so sorry!
ReplyDeleteHow cute it your Elliecat?
ha ha, what a fab piccie of Ellie cat!! What a pain with all your photos though!
ReplyDeleteOh bugger!! The document looks great so don't panic!
ReplyDeleteStill need to do cutting - arrrrrgh!
Oh chick, how frustrating! But your instructions are always so clear so we'll be ok, don't worry. That's one really funny pic of Elliecat!Jxo
ReplyDeleteWell, Sarah, your graphics are perfect! They do the whole job.
ReplyDeleteSorry about all the time it took for taking the pictures and then not being able to upload them (or is it download?) and loose them.
I'm sure Miss Ellicat will comfort you (o:
Have a lovely Friday!
PS: I have made 2 blocks and in both blocks and forgot one sashing...
Bugger, bugger, bugger! Poor you. Don't you worry, I haven't even cut my fabric out yet so you are waaaaaay ahead of me. Just take it easy and do things when you can do things. It's not as if we are going anywhere and personally I love the slow pace of it all. Gives me a chance to actually catch up at some point.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That sucks. Majorly.
ReplyDeleteEllicat is adorbs though.
I'm sure Elliecat did it - sorry but guilt is written all over that furry face!
ReplyDeleteOh, pet lamb!! I'm not laughing, honest. Well, maybe a little snicker. I'm not sure about my sashing colour (my second - costing me a bloody fortune but my solids stash is growing nicely) so as soon as I am able I'll be making my first block up to see. Hopefully today - yay for half term!
ReplyDeleteAww... that must be so frustrating for you! I'm sure we'll be able to figure things out from the written instructions. Good luck finishing up your swaps!
ReplyDeleteLove Ellie's little face! She looks absolutely shocked.
Bugger! Still, the instructions look great...love the photo of Elliecat!!
ReplyDeleteYour graphics are very clear. I remember my Dad years ago telling me about a grad student that had narcolepsy. I taught with someone who has it. Very frustrating but treatments are better now than 45 years ago. Still of course not perfect. We are dealing with a kidney stone issue here so fabric not yet cut out but at least selected. Joanne
ReplyDeleteOoops! :-)
ReplyDeleteoh no! It's ok pictures are for wimps ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I need to get cutting too!
I am so very sorry that happened to you. I wish I were far enough along to whip some pictures out for you.
ReplyDeleteMade my first - it is bloody AWESOME!!!! Photos going in the Flickr group as soon as I take 'em...
ReplyDeleteOh bless you - that must be so frustrating..
ReplyDeleteI've sent you a little award, enjoy. http://shevvylondon.blogspot.com/2012/02/award-winning-blogger-me.html
ReplyDeleteOh you poor thing. Can't imagine how gutted you were. Juliex
ReplyDeleteHi, Sarah. Very frustrating, however, your instructions are clear and work perfectly fine. Perfect cat picture! Guess I've had too much of cats and dogs lately--seeing them everywhere!
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
Errr-- I feel your frustration, Sarah!! So sorry that happened to you. I am so impressed that you are doing this QAL and at how much you post and accomplish with your quilting in spite of you narcolepsy-- you're doing pretty darn good in my book!! Hope you were able to re-do the photos. I love the expression on your cat's face-- that is priceless-- and a funny caption. Hope all is well with you otherwise!!
